Château Marotte – ‘Tapis Rouge’ red wine

Centered in the Bordeaux region, in Cantois, our wine production has continued for five generations with the highest respect given to our terroir and to the development of our products.

The Vineyard

Region: Bordeaux, France
Vineyard Area: 10 ha (24.7 acres)
Grape Varieties: 80% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon
Method of cultivation: Integrated farming, pruned using the Guyot single method, leaf removal, green harvesting

Vinification

Maceration: skin maceration lasts for 7 days(8°c)
Fermentation: temperatures regulated: 23-27°c
Production in vat: carried out in underground thermo-regulated vats
Annual production: 74500 bottles
Alcohol: 13.5%vol

Taste

A refined, embodied, fruity, dark purple colored wine. Solid tannins melt into this wine allowing for the aromas of black fruits (such as black current) and vanilla to culminate in a toasty rich flavor which reveals itself over and over again.
